At an age of twelve, she had a big dream; she wanted to sail around the world. When she turned sixteen, she did it. A normal girl from Buderim, Australia, sailed in Ella’s Pink Lady, and came back after 210 days. At the start of her journey, people just made fun of her, people thought she was joking, a sixteen year old girl who wanted to sail around the world. She made it, she was alone on the ship, the whole time, and she did everything alone. Many people said that it was destined to fail, but she believed in herself.
She had enough confidence to do it, even when people did not believed her, and I think that is why she got nominated to Australian of the year.
