I denne aflevering har jeg især fokuseret på tegnsætning i form af komma, hvor jeg har prøvet at lade være med at sætte komma, hvis jeg har været i tvivl. Derudover har jeg prøvet at undlade sætninger, som ikke er helt præcise (bølgestreg).
Analytical essay of “One, Two, Three, Reduppity”
Peer pressure can influence or encourage an individual into doing something foolish, but in some cases, it can end up being enforced to the individual. The main character in Zoughii’s short story “One, Two, Three, Reduppity” (2010) experience that on her own, when her life chance in full force due to nothing less than a pill. At that moment, her life is at risk and her naive accession is replaced by a miserable fear and death itself.
The story starts in medias res. It is being narrated from the middle as if the audiences are supposed to be aware of the past events, even when that’s not the case.
“"One, two, three, Reduppity," the whole room yelled and then the four figures in the circle threw down their five cards.” Ali scanned her hand and fought down the rising panic.”
In this case, we are given very little information from the start. We know that panic is rising in Ali due to her cards, but that’s about all. This start creates a feeling of wanting to know what happens next and therefore an eager to keep reading.
