Imagen you have bought a bottle of water and you’re drinking as your walking home from school or something. You have now been walking for around five minutes and the bottle is now empty and there is no garbage can. Now you must take it home with you or throw it away in a bush or something.
Unfortunately, most of the people takes the second possibility. And that is a very serious problem, even for us here in Europe. One of the things that really annoys me, is that always everyone in Europe have access to clean water. They can just turn on the sink and just get drinkable water. But people still buy one-liter water bottles, half liter water bottles and some are even buying the 0,3-liter bottles from aqua dor. I remember, a few years ago we talked about it in school and sometimes the bottles in supermarkets wasn’t even fresh.
So, we are buying water bottles even though it’s cheaper if you take it from the dish. And we don’t even recycle them, we just throw them into bushes, beaches and forests.
I have been to Africa many times, I have seen beaches covered in plastic bottles. And when we drove around the city we were living in, there was plastic everywhere, especially plastic bottles. And we saw lakes filled with plastic bottles. One of the big reasons to this issue is that, in Africa, there are not always a trashcan or a container nearby, so people just throw some place else.
