I found Malcolm X and the civil rights movement an interesting topic, and as well as that I found it intriguing that there still occurs a large amount of racism in America today and wondered why.
Who was Malcolm X
Malcolm X born Malcolm Little in 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. Assassinated February 21. 1965 in Manhattan, New York. Malcolm Was a black Muslim preacher and civil rights activist. Through the years people called him a racist, which was caused by an aggressive opinion about the white people. Which may have been influenced by his father, who was a preacher and Garveyite. A Garveyite is someone who believes in Garveyism. Which was a political belief that advocates the separation of blacks and whites, and the formation of a black state.
Later his father was killed by the white supremacy militia organization, Black Legion. Because he was speaking up about Garveyism.
When he was young, he attended Junior High School, but quickly dropped out as a teacher told him that “school was no realistic goal for a black man” therefrom he moved to Harlem, New York. Where he began hustling. He was selling drugs, gambling and robbing. Where he then got sent to prison. That was where he learned about Islam.
