Essay

As a mother, a wife, and the former first lady, Michelle Obama has undeniably experienced and undergone both significant and insignificant events and changes during her life. As a role model and an inspirational woman, Michelle chronicles her journey through life, growing into different positions, such as being the first lady of the US and helping teenagers build meaningful careers. While she may no longer be physically growing, personal growth is of paramount importance to her. She has always evolved throughout her life, which has been crucial for achieving and conquering her different roles like being the president of a hospital and being the first lady of the US. Michelle points out that, “Growing up”, is not limited to children, but is ever occurring. This is also the main theme behind the text, and the reason for its title, Becoming, since she is always becoming something new.
