The movie “stand by me” is about four twelve-year-old boys named Gordan Lachance, Chris Chambers, Vern Tessio and Teddy Duchamp. They live in Castel Rock in the 1960’s. All the boys have problems with their parents, Gordan’s parents are abusive and ignore him, especially after his brother Denny died in a jeep accident in the army. Chris’s father is an alcoholic, Vern is afraid of his brother Billy. Teddy’s dad is in a mental institution in Togus, because he is mentally unstable, and once he burned Teddy’s ears on a burner plate.
One day Gordan is reading the newspaper, about Chris who is dead. He starts getting a flashback, about one of their adventures.
It all starts in the summer holydays; they are sitting in the treehouse, when Vern comes running, to tell the boys something. He tells them that he heard his big brother Billy talk to Ace Merrill, the gang leader about a dead body in the forest, while he is digging under the porch to find his jar of penny’s. The dead body are the missing boy named Ray Brower and is the same age as the four boys. Billy doesn’t want to report the body, because the stole a car to drive out to the railway tracks, where they find the body.
