All countries have a set of unique values and beliefs that define, not only what that country’s respective citizens are, but also what they strive to become. These values and beliefs are reflected in a lot of things, from how the citizens think of life, to something as simple as how the citizens interact with one another every single day. It is no different in the case of the USA and Denmark. If you’ve been to both places, then you will have noticed these differences. When travelling to either one of the countries, it is easy to notice that you are far from home, not just by the landscape, climate, or the nature, but by the minds of the people, and how they function.

The root of these differences is hard to identify, and you can easily point fingers at hundreds of different things and claim it to be the cause of all of this, but one thing is for sure, and that is that changing people is impossible.

I’m no kid anymore, my core identity has already been defined and solidified, and though my beliefs and opinions might vary as I grow older, my core identity will not. And seeing how the world is riddled with things like racism, sexism, and religion-wars, it seems obvious that not all humans are compatible with one another. Who we are compatible with is mostly out of our control, but what is not out of our control, is who we decide to live amongst and coexist with, and that leads me to my first point of why I would not want to live in the USA; the people.
