I chose this topic because I once saw a movie about split personality called “Split” the movie is about 3 girls getting kidnapped by a man diagnosed with 23 distinct personalities. When I saw this movie, I was really intrigued by how you can have 23 personalities but not be aware of it.

A split personality refers to dissociative identity disorder (DID), a mental disorder where a person has two or more, distinct personalities. The thoughts, actions, and behaviours of each personality are often completely different from each other. These fragmented personalities take control of the person’s identity for some time. And they usually shift between these personalities when a person faces a certain stressor or trigger. The distinct personalities may serve diverse roles in helping the individual cope with life's dilemmas.
