As one of the most well-known sandwich brands globally, Subway does a fantastic job ensuring that they stay relevant for their large number of customers. Having over 20.000 location all around the unites states, they have become the leading choice for people seeking fast, nutritious, and healthy meal for the whole family to enjoy. Subway’s concept started with Peter’s Super Submarines in 1965. As a 17-year-old college student, Fred Deluca started the 5-foot-long sandwich shop. You could probably sit down and wonder why sandwiches are such a great success and specifically why it became such a great success for Subway. Keep in mind that Subway has still has many challenges in other markets, as the market in China for example which is a big concern. For Subway it can be difficult to expand there. Even though Subway has a huge interest in the Chinese market, especially because of the extremely large population. Maybe they should focus on the Chinese market, who knows.

Fred Deluca’s plan with the company concept, was to start a fast-food service which could provide a healthier and less fattening eating habits. That is one of the bigger competences Subways has, for them reaching their goal to be healthier, means they must invest in more ecological products, better raw materials and. Therefore, their prices can be higher than other fast-food restaurants as McDonalds, KFC and furthermore. Nevertheless, they prepare their sandwiches in front of the costumers; this sets some form of good service in quality. The shops are in small extensions, this is great as the opening costs of a new shop would be low, also in terms of electricity and storage.
