Analytical essay of Black Britons Know Why Meghan Markle Wants Out – Afua Hirsch

The British society has become racist to the wife of Prins Harry, Meghan Markle. Those are the claims made by the Journalist, Afua Hirsch, and published by the New York Times January 9, 2020. The article revolves around the problems with racial discrimination in the royal family. It tells about choices that have been made by the royal pair, Prins Henry and wife Meghan Markle. They are experiencing racism due to Meghan’s black/mulat skin-colour. The article shows how the British press and society influence the royal pair, to make decisions about maybe leaving the royal family and becoming economic independent.

The article shows how the Britain's can be to people with different colour of skin. This can be a situation which comes from Britain overall, frustrations about the huge wave of immigrants, who have entered their country and life. And now we see the situation in their precious royal family.

The sender of the story is the journalist, Afua Hirsch, who works/worked for the Guardian and The New York Times. Afua Hirsch has put the focus on the racism that Meghan Markle is being exposed from. The writer Afua Hirsch has experienced a bit like Meghan Markle since she also has been exposed for racism in her career as a journalist. She also has a lot of knowledge in the area of racism in Britain, with her other article “Why Britishness, as an identity, is in crisis”. In the text, Afua Hirsch is trying to inform us about what is happening to Meghan Markle and her family. Afua Hirsch is proving her point about racism, which is that it still exists in Britain and the rest of the world.
