Summary of one of the story lines in ‘Crash’ (Daniel Ruiz)
Daniel Ruiz is a Mexican - American locksmith who experiences discrimination in the film 'Crash' because of the way he looks, but he is nothing but very a devoted family man, who is trying to move his family to a safer environment, than the one they lived in before.
Fixing Jean and Rick Cabot’s lock.
Daniel comes over and fixes Jean Cabot and Rick Cabot locks on their home after their car got stolen by Peter and Anthony. While he is fixing their lock Jean suspects Daniel to be a gang member because he is Mexican and has tattoos which she describes as a prison tattoos. She says to Rick, that she wants the lock changed again in the morning, because she fears Daniel being a gang member who would just go sell their key to some random gang member on the street, so they could break into their house.
