I decided to chose the subject because I found it interesting the fact that so many young people (in Denmark at least) drink alcohol now I went on the internet and found out some stuff about it and I learned that young people (between 15 and 25) in Denmark that drink alcohol weekly has risen from 19% In 2014 to 25% in 2019 it has been estimated that the young people in the age group of 15 to 25 has so big of an alcohol use that they need advice and treatment I found this information from this information made me think that it is insane how much young people in Denmark drink now I don’t really drink but I thought that the fact that it has raised by that much in five years is totally nuts and it also made me think about how much other countries drink so I did some research and I found out that “in all of America people ages 12 to 20 only drink 4% of all the alcohol consumed and in Russia it has dropped from 14% to 5% in just four years” which I thought that’s just crazy how can countries that produce so much alcohol not have a higher percent of young people that drink and I thought it might have something to do about the legal age in those countries and I found out that in Russia the legal drinking age is 18 in America its 21 and in Denmark it amazingly also 18 (at least for stronger drinks) if you were to buy alcohol that are under 16.5% alcohol you only have to be 16 years of age and then I thought that Danish alcohol producers might just be clever enough to get their sales a lot higher in younger crowds by making their alcohol percent 16.4% so it’s just under the limit so when younger people go to parties they can buy that drink by themselves the problem with alcohol is that it can be very dangerous you can get alcohol poisoning which “is a very serious and sometimes deadly consequence of drinking a large amount of alcohol in a short amount of time”
