Analyse af filmen 'The Life of David Gale'

In the last few English lessons, we have been watching a film called “The Life of David Gale”.

The Film is about a college teacher, David Gale, and a student named Constance, who is tries to prove that the system convicts and kills innocent people. They succeeded in proving that the system convicts, because they convicted David even though he was “innocent”.

“The Life of David Gale” is not based on a true story, but it not unrealistic, because it has happened before that innocent people got executed. The Main topic in this film is death penalty, the governor also said that “This is Texas and we´re gonna follow the Texas laws”. What he is talking about is of course the death penalty, because death penalty is legal in Texas.

After watching the film, I really looked at death penalty in another way. I thought that the American police was a little better at researching the cases. Because David, made enough evidence that he was innocent. Also that it was the journalist Bitsey and her assistant, that found out that he was innocent, and not the police.

I also find the ending of the film very interesting, because we find out, that even though David didn’t kill her, that he was apart of it. It also made Bitsey feel better, because she found out that it was his plan, to show that the system is broken, and that they got what they aimed for when he died. I also think that the last part of the film changed the whole film, and got me confused and made me think, but in a good way.
