“Kiss” - Elizabeth Baines The short story Kiss starts in medias res, where for the first time you are presented with the couple, who stand in the entrance to the subway and kiss, while a young man gets ready to detonate a bomb. The short story is atypical and different, as it starts and ends with the exact same scene. All that else goes on in the short story is content from the lives of the 3 characters, including a lot of flashbacks. The start of the short story serves as a hook for the reader, who becomes curious about
