Being Amish are for us a very different way to live. Some people even think they live like slaves. They absolutely don’t. They’re just fine. Most of them are just as happy as we are. They just have different rules. On their 16 birth, everything looks different to them. Someone would call it a kind of freedom, but when they get 16 it means that they can choose how they want to live, maybe the rest of their days. Maybe they still want to be Amish, or maybe they’ll do something else with their lives, like being English. I think it’s very exciting how they live, because it’s absolutely not like what we’re used to. The Amish people don’t have television or computer, they didn’t even have a telephone. When you’re Amish your husband or wife also have to be Amish, you can’t be Amish and then be married, maybe to English people. I think it’s more than okay to be different. They’re not dangerous and sick, its other things that make them different, but in a good way. They’re nice and healthy people, and even their clothes look different and old to us, it’s still what they’re used to. We just say its old and weird clothes because it’s not what we’re used to wear. Their homes, or should I call it farms, is really comfortable. Often they have old and warm things, and dark colors in their house. The Amish people live normal life like husband and wife, small or grown up kids and often animals but most horses. Maybe it sounds weird, but they use horses instead of cars.
