Amish are a queer lot, who lives in the most part of the world. Today exists there 24 Amish communities in the states of America, Canada, Central-America and South-America The Amish queer lot is one of the fastest growing communities in USA. Today are there 250.000 Amish people and 80% of them live in the states Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana. They live without any electricity, cars, telephones and that stuff. They don’t drive in cars, but in buggies, that’s a carriage. The amish are very Christianize, they believing in hard work. They have a really special culture, with many rules. For example they may not have sex before marriage and drink alcohol. The Amish people work very hard, there’s not one day, where they can’t relax. They speak their own language called Pennsylvania Dutch that’s a mix of English and German. Amish are popular for their “old lifestyle” They live like humans for 300 hundred years ago. They don’t use modern things, because they find it stressful. The family is the most important thing in the Amish culture. Large families with 7 to 10 children are not unusual. The Amish Roles are divided so the man works on the far, while the wife does all the things in the house, for example cleaning, cooking and the other household stuff. The boys do typically help their father outside with milking cows and to all the hard work, while the girls help their moms in the kitchen and with cleaning the house. The Amish teenagers have a special tradition, when they become around the fifteen called rumspringa. Where the Amish teenagers shell try the “real American life” with sex, alcohol and drugs. When this period is over, they shell make their life’s biggest decision about they will live as Amish or life “the real life” If they chose not to live like Amish as their family and choose to live like really Americans. Will their family repels them, and they can’t ever turn back to the peaceful Amish life. The most part of teenagers decides to go back to the Amish life after they have passed the rumspringa. I think it’s a nice thing, they by themselves can decide which life they want to live. But I think it’s weird that so many decide the Amish lifestyle rather than “the real life” Most of the Amish have animals and they use everything from them: milk, skin and meat. The Amish are really creative they make their clothes of themselves. The clothes have dark colours like black and grey. You don’t see Amish in sparkling colours. The women and the girls wear a white bonnet and a grey dress. The men have a long beard and wearing a high black hat. When an Amish family shell build a new farm, do they all help each other like one big family. (Called barn raising) Amish are not popular in the cities; people spit on them and call them ugly things. I think it’s like racism they don’t know the Amish people. I think its weird people does that, just because they’re Amish, and therefore live like old times, that can someone apparently not respect.
