The Amish people don’t use Modern technology, and they live like we did many years ago. It’s like an isolated community, with so less connection to the world around as possible.
Many Amish people earn their money by selling homemade items like jam, bread, quilts and wooden articles to the tourists. People like us are nuisance to the Amish, because we are buying ground from and near the Amish. That means more traffic, accidents, but the main problem will be the increasing price of land.
The Amish are very good to help each other, example if a barn burns down, the number of helpers can be around 700. (Then it will only take around a day).
The young Amish people get together like we do. But they sing when they are together. We will not get together for singing; maybe we will Play Playstation, Computer or play football.
The Amish girls start singing when they are 15-16 years old, but the boy’s starts when they are 16-17 years. (Mature)
The Amish school is not like our school, they have only important subject. That means that they don’t have athletics. The Amish people can leave school after 8th grade. When the children finished their homework they have to work on the farm the rest of the day.
