In the summer of 1963, is 17 year old Baby on a vacation at a resort hotel in the Catskill lodge. Baby wants to be in the Peace Corps next summer. So this is the last summer she can have some spare time with her family. One night at the hotel, Baby hears some dancing music at a house. She diced to go over there and check out what party it is. At the party she saw a guy named Johnny and he is dancing like a dream. When Johnny’s dancing partner Penny finds herself pregnant, Baby decided to learn Penny’s steps and take her place. And then Johnny began to teach Baby all the important steps. Baby’s father is not so happy about the teaching Baby is getting. Baby is still getting the lesson and is falling in love with Johnny. They are training a lot. And at a party they are showing what they got and people loved it.
So the movie is about a girl who slips into womanhood during an eye-opening vacation.
