Derek used to have a great life. He was a well educated student, but at an early age is fathers hate towards black affected him, and his judgment. His father was a firefighter and when he was killed, putting out a fire in the black community, Derek was forced to drop out of school to help support his family. His life started changing drastically when he started joining a white supremacy group, which he later became a leader of. One night, 2 black guys were breaking into his car. Derek killed them and was sent to jail 3 years for a race related murder. But prison affected him and his life more than he even realized at the beginning.
