In the past few years there has been a big discussion on the subject McDonald’s. It is commonly known fact that in our days people are more health conscious and they think twice about the amount of fast food they consume. This new lifestyle has caused McDonalds a decline in its portion on the fast food market.

Since 1997, McDonald’s share of the fast food market has fallen a lot and there are several of reasons why this has happened.

Among fast food chains McDonald has lost the lunchtime battle to healthier fast food chains, like Subway, Sunset and so on. Parents, especially working mothers do not want their children to be feed up with food that does not serve them right.

The company faces a problem with its image too. McDonald’s seems downmarket to her customers. People combine McDonald’s with obesity lawsuits and 5$ lattes.

Sales of the popular children menu, Happy Meals have fallen because the company has not been able to capitalize on toys from any movies since Toy Story 2.

While owning a McDonald’s was once a sure money-making many franchisees do not dare to make a McDonalds restaurant to their business because of the bad image McDonald’s has gotten, the lower profits and the costs that have increased having the restaurant.
