Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the south USA, the 15th January 1929. He was born Michael, but later in his life he changed that to Martin. He’s family was highly religious, and they were a black middleclass family in the south USA. He fought for equality between the white and the black people. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. He got murdered the 4th April 1968 by a man named James Earl Roy. He sits in jail for life. The early years: Martin grew up in Atlanta in the
