Goal 2: Schooling for everybodyEvery sponsor child has to go to school. Børnefonden builds schools and have established “School-shops”, where educating materials can be bought, for a reduced price. Grownups can be taught to read and write, so that they can help their own children with their homework. For the older children Børnefonden have created professions schools, so those that may drop out of school, gets the offer of an professional education, that will give them the opportunity of getting a job later.
Goal 4: Reduce child-death-rate with two third partsBørnefonden inter alia works with prevention and treatment of malnutrition and malaria, which is the most serious threat against the children’s life. For example do Børnfonden, in all the villages where the sponsor childs lives, been carrying through nutrition sessions, for mothers with smaller children. The children are being weighted and the mothers are being taught in giving their kids a healthy and a varied diet with the right vitamins and minerals. Børnfonden do also work for access to pure drinking water, hygiene, and sanitation and vaccination coverage.
