Now I want to tell a little bit about some subjects, as how the people in outback’s gets education, and medicine,
Education.
In most outback communities, the number of children is too small for a conventional school to operate. Children are educated at home by the School of the Air. Originally the teachers communicated with the children via radio, but now satellite telecommunication is used instead. Some children attend boarding school, mostly only those in secondary school.
Medicine.
The Flying Doctors were "invented" in 1928, by John Flynn. He was a doctor, and he had a pilot’s license, too. instead of having people to travel for days by a car or on horseback, dr. Flynn could instead take his plane and visit the patients with a reasonable times plan. That way, he has saved many lives in his days.
But his plane would not be to so much help, if the people wouldn’t be able to get through to him and ask for help,
So he came with an idea that preferably every farm needed to have a two-way radio, there would be able to both receive and send. That would be far cheaper than a telephone line.
His idea was realized, and apart from its medical and emergency use, the radio turned out to be a great social success, too. For People who were living their lives on lonely farms all of a sudden could get in touch with everyone in the district, simply by using the radio. It may have saved a lot of people from going crazy of loneliness.
