Gabourey Sidibe is amateur actor whom has had some of the same experiences as the ‘real’ girl.

The movie is based on a thru story. It’s based on a novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.

The movie have been a huge success in America.

Short summary:Precious is an African American 16 year old obese girl. She lives with her mother in Harlem in New York. She grew up in a poor, unhealthy and rough environment. Her father has raped her since she was three and he still does. She is pregnant with her second child with her father. Her mother abuses her mentally and physically. She yells at Precious and beats her ever day. Even though Precious does the entire household work. Her mother also tells her that she is nothing and can’t do anything right. That makes Precious insecure.

The principal finds out that she is pregnant and sends Precious to another school, where she can study while she is pregnant. Her teacher in the new school Ms. Rain is very generous and helps her through her problems. When she borne her second child, she goes back home to her mom and it all ends up in chaos. She breaks through the school in the middle of the night and sleeps there until the next morning. Her teacher Ms. Rain is letting Precious sleep in her house. For the first time in her life Precious feels loved and safe and that makes her fight to the finish.
