Most of the world`s tornadoes happen in the Untied Stats. Tornadoes are the most terrible of all storms. They are very difficult to spot, and because of that people get the warning message about tornadoes late. Many people can`t get away from them. It can be very dangerous to live in stats with tornado activates. Scientists have been working on a warning system for many years, but they have still not succeeded the project. It`s very difficult to make a system, which is able to forecast the tornadoes. They are completely unpredictable. Stats like Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota are all stats in the Mid-West were they have big tornado activates. It`s almost flat farming land. The Mid-West of the country is also called the storm belt. In this part of the country tornadoes can grow very big, because all the conditions to create big tornadoes often take place here. The weather conditions here are perfect. Tornadoes start as ordinary thunderstorms, but if warm wet air coming in from the Gulf of Mexico happens to meet cold dry air coming in from the North tornadoes can be created. That’s what often happens in this part of the country. In USA a tornado can be more than 200 meters in diameter. Tornadoes with 200 meters in diameter destroy whole cities. People and animals, which are around the tornado being, kill. The tornadoes pick up dust and stones, to they become dark, and much later they dump all the dust and stones hundreds of kilometers away. Therefore it`s also very dangerous for people who live much farther away. People and animals may be killing hundreds of kilometers away. Farms and fields are destroyed, and it costs the farms much money, and their fields may be useless forever. Luckily tornadoes usually don’t last very long and destroy things along a path, usually about 400 meters wide. On average USA have over 600 tornadoes a years, and, over the last 50 years 9000 people have been killed by them.
