Families are complex. It is many different lives melted altogether. This means that tolerance and attention to each other are necessary, because everybody in a family needs to be heard, loved and cared for. If this works, a harmonic family will most likely be seen, but if it does not, life in a family can be very difficult.

A side of a family issue is described in the short story Most Wanted by Amanda Coe from 2000.

This story contains a lot of themes revolving around the subject of being a family. There is love. The love that the little Michelle hungers for, the completely new kind of love that the narrator is just about to learn about together with Gary – the teenage love. Then there is the love that exists or does not exist between the parents, or just the love there has been between them. Furthermore the theme blame is also central in this story. You see that when the narrator in the end of the story blames her little sister for their parents’ separation: ““This is all your fault” I said, and I meant it…” (p. 4 l. 152). This is what the narrator says to Michelle in the end of the story. But the whole story is about stealing so this is of cause also a very big and important theme in the story. This is what the whole story is revolving around. Michelle’s problem leads to a lot of other problems, and it affects the whole family.
