Homelessness in New York: Annie's historie

There are more than 100.000 homeless people in New York. Many of them are ashamed of that, and hide when they see a camera. The homeless people say that the police always are following them, and searching them for drugs or stolen things. The rent in New York is very high, so the people who live for less than 1 $ a day, have no house and they got to live on a hostel. Those people are often stealing from rich white people, and some of the homeless are prostituted, to earn money for food and cigarettes. When they live on the street many of them have no family so they join a crew to fell confidence, and get some friends. A homeless girl called Annie have done that, many homeless people fear, she told her story to the world.

Annie is homeless in New York. She got homeless when she was 6 years old. She is a member of the bloods, she is prostituted and she is stealing from other rich people to earn money. Annie has three different personalities Annie the hard girl, Jaquate the sweet and helpful and JQ the really hard girl. She has a daughter called Honesty , who’s living at Annie´s grandmother. Annie and her grandmother don´t get along so Annie have chosen the street. She wishes, that she could live with her daughter, but she can´t have a child when she lives on the street.
