Make a short summary: The main character Casim is a young DJ from Pakistan, who lives in Glasgow with his family. Casim’s sister attends a catholic school, even though she’s a Muslim. An Irish teenager is working as a teacher in Casim’s sisters school, her name is Roisin. The two young people fall in love, but that creates big problems for them both. His Muslim parents have arranged for him to marry his first cousin Jasmine, and the big issue during the film is whether Casim can go against his parents wish, or if he feels he has to choose Jasmine. Casim’s father owns a small grocery shop, and it is very important to him that his children get a good education, and lives by the rules of the Pakistan community. In the beginning of their relationship they keep it a big secret, that they are dating, and when they drive in Casim’s car Rosin ducks her heard so that his relatives can´t see her in the car. After a while Casim tells his mother, that he can´t marry Jasmine, because he is in love with someone else. That creates a great deal of panic in the family, because now they would get a bad reputation in the Pakistani community. That would be a problem for his father shop, and for his older sister who could lose her fiancé because Casim’s new relationship would bring shame to her family. Rosin also loses her job at the Catholic school, because she has a relation with a Muslim man. Casim realizes that his choice makes his parents very unhappy, so he decides to leave Rosin. In the end of the film you see Rosin and Casim kissing each other.
