The text is about humanoid robots that Japanese scientists have developed. They made an experiment to see, if human can live with robots. They took a little girl and her mother and locked them in a room with a robot. The girl chatted and played with the robot for some hours, and she hugged the robot, when it asked for it. When the girl got tired she would not play with the robot, and the robot went over to the mother to talk with her. When the little girl saw that the robot was with her mother, she got jealous.
Japanese engineers want to make the machines more human, and they use a lot of time with doing that. They want to make robots, there are easy to live with. Moreover it is difficult to learn robots the real life as human, because they have difficulty to understand and learn. The robots don’t understand signs and gestures that humans uses. Some robots can speak 30.000 phrases in four different languages and some of them do really look like humans (a woman).
B. Commentary
I think that it is a good idea, because we are living in a world now, that is based on a technology and we are depended on our technology. We do already have industry robots, so why not develop robots that can live as normal people does and live with us without any problems?. That we can get robots that can actually communicate with people is a good idea, since we can spend them to work, for example as a nurse of elderly etc. The development of humanoid robots will maybe in the future be an important part of our community. But it is very important to remember, that robots should not have the control over humans. It can be dangerous and we can become their pet and social worker instead of the other way around.
