Sylvia Furnish is an older lady who has a store where she sells candy and cigarettes. Every day a couple of mothers come in her store to buy cigarettes. She won’t give anything away and she is a tough lady in many ways. But this day she gets soft, because she sees how hard life is for some people in Brazil on TV, so she decides to give some candy to the kid who tried to steel a chocolate bar. The theme must seem to be that she turns to be a softer lady than she used to, even as she was to her own kids.
Sylvia Furnish was married and had two children. She still has the kids, but they don’t live nearby anymore. Her husband left her and took everything he could take with him. She only got the store left after he left, because it was in her name. When the kids were young she was hard to them, she was alone and wanted the best for her children, and she was concerned about how they looked. But now she doesn’t understand her selves. It didn’t help them, the one live in a caravan and the other stacks shelves in a supermarket. Now she finds out that she might get more out of life if she is kind to people.
