I have chosen this topic because of a personal interest and to get more information about MLK, and because he was a very famous and important man.
Racial segregation in USA:In the USA, black people was threaded different and much worse than white was. From 1500 until 1800, the black people were forced to work as slaves for the white. In 1865 the slavery was abolished, but the black people were still treated very badly, until 1964, then the racial segregation was abolished in public places.
MLK biography:
He was born 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was called Martin, and his Mother was called Alberta. His father was a pastor in a Baptist church. Until he was 6, he didn’t knew that colored people was treated different than white. One day his best friend’s mother told him, that he couldn’t play with his friend anymore, because he was black. That was the first time he heart of racial segregation. When King was older he wanted to become a pastor like his father, and he did.
In 1951 he started at the University in Boston. At the university he met his coming wife Coretta. And they had 4 children.
