Australia In Australia there is a place called The Great Barrier Reef. There Is a garden under the sea with 1,400 different kinds of fish, and more than 300 kinds of coral. So every year a lot of holiday makers come to see the garden under sea. Tasmania is the Island south of Australia. It's the same side ad England, and only half a million live on the beautiful Island. The Red Heart in the Northern Territory are holy to the aboriginals, because they believe that the land has life. They call it The Red Heart Of Australia, and it is red with red sand and red rocks. There are thousands of tourists visiting The Heart Of Australia every year. A hundred years ago the Australians decided to build a capital city, and the work began in 1943 in Canberra. Now it is a big city with diplomats and government. Australia is called the lucky country, because there is a lot of gold, silver, iron and coal under their earth. There are many kinds of animals protected in Australia now, because back in time, the Australians did not care about all the animals, so they hunted almost all the special animals in Australia. There are 16 million people in Australia and 139 sheep. The Australians can grow almost anything, because there are so many different kinds of climate. It's been told that Sydney is the most beautiful city on earth. It is Australia's oldest city. It is the most modern place in Australia. The houses in Paddington are very expensive. For a long time Paddington was unfashionable and the houses were old and dirty. But the houses are now fashionable again, because it's been painted and repaired. Australia has the same problems as all the other big cities in the world, with homeless people and so on. But the cities in Australia aren’t so big like the other. Aboriginals are the poorest Australians. There aren’t so many aboriginals back in the world, because back in time they stood in the way of the Europeans, and the Europeans wanted some land and other stuff, so they began to kill all the aboriginals that they thought stood in their way. There are perhaps nearly 200,000 aboriginals alive now. Back in the old days many prisoners Britain came to Australia to live there. They were nearly the first Europeans that came to Australia.
