Analyse af filmen 'Brokeback Mountain'

Summary:

Brokeback Mountain is a film directed by Ang Lee in 2005. The main characters in the film are Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Ennis and Jake are hired to herd sheep through a summer on Brokeback Mountain. During the long months of isolation an unusual bond starts to develop between the two. A bond which they are only vaguely aware of. One night after serious drinking Jack makes a sexual pass at Ennis which triggers their bond to rise to the surface in a passionate encounter. When the season ends, shorter than expected, they part separate ways only to realize the true depth of their feelings.

Ennis marries his longtime fiancée Alma Beers and become a father too two girls. Jack meets Lureen Newsome at a rodeo event and shortly after their meeting they are married and parents to a boy. Through the years Jack and Ennis only see each other once in a while. Their frustration with their different ways to handle their love makes them part as enemies. And when Ennis try to reconnect with Jack he gets the message that Jack is dead.
