Everyone knows that partying and hanging out with our friends is funnier than studying or doing papers for school. That is a part of being a teenager. It is not always easy to be a young adult. Sometimes you escape the reality by taking drugs or drinking alcohol and end up in a dark place with a hard road back to the person you were before. Nowadays young people have to think about their own life and school to become successful and not be distracted by their surroundings. Last but not least not to be afraid to fail what you are doing, because anything is possible if you want to do what it takes to be successful. This is the case of Ellie in the short story “A Gap of Sky” written by Anna Hope.

The short story “A Gap of Sky” Is told in third person, from our main character Ellie’s point of view. Ellie is a 19 year old girl and she goes to college as a reader you get a look inside her head and her thoughts. The story is told in at certain way that gives us a good overview of how Ellie is thinking and feeling. Ellie uses allot of swearwords in the text and there is allot of times where she says the word “Fuck”. This I a good example of the is a young woman or perhaps an older teenager, as not may older woman will go an say those kinds of words.
