... Pete began to imagine what could have happened to the young kids. He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, and texted Zoe, so she wouldn't think that he had ditched or abandoned her. He explained that he just got a message about two kids reported missing. Pete had been working in the Rocky Mountains for probably three years already, so he knew the place quite well. He received a text message from Zoe rather quick, she wrote that she understood the importance of finding the children, she also wrote that he should be careful because it was already getting dark, especially in the mountains. Pete quickly prepared a lunchbox, two peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a cup of coffee. He got into his car, and drove off about 7 pm. Pete's car was quite big and he had appointed it really good, there was a mattress, chair and a laptop even a little fridge as well, that way he could sleep in the mountains if necessary.

Pete had been driving for over 3 hours now, and he didn't see any children on his way. Therefore he decided to put on his boots and start hiking, however the kids were nowhere to be found. After two days searching, Pete texted Zoe again and Zoe answered that he shouldn't give up, and that the kids had to be found soon. Pete had been walking for hours, and he could feel how tired his body was. He yelled their names, but all he heard was the echo of his voice. There was absolutely no hope left for the two kids, however Pete strongly refused to give up searching, alive or dead, they had to be found. Pete was known for his stubbornness, even though he had to walk for days, and sleep in a car at night, he kept on going. The fourth day, he was walking around, suddenly he got a chock, a brown bear stood right in front of him, but the bear wasn't interested in Pete, so it ran away. Pete sighed, and yelled the kids names again. He heard some screaming kids, he got Goosebumps and ran after the voices. It was an open area, there were two kids crying and a big angry bear, the exactly same bear Pete saw half an hour ago. Pete didn't raise his voice and tried to get closer to the kids without the bear noticed. When Pete was 3 meters away from the kids, he whispered: "Do not move, and if it comes close to you, lay down!" The kids nodded so Pete knew that they understood. Suddenly, the bear growled at them, and then it left. The two kids started crying, and Pete gently held them until they stopped. He called the other men who were searching for them, and told them the good news, he also texted Zoe. The two kids were brought safely home, and they were two lucky kids.
