The story is about two teenage girls, Elly and Sophie, who have been best friends for many years. Their friendship is no longer as simple, as it was when they were small children. Sophie has suspect that Elly has an eating disorder, and she is very nervous and insecure how she should tell Elly it, because it is not easy to confront your best friend with her problem and then she don’t know, what to say to her. Elly is so affected by the eating disorder that she can not even read, think or speak probably anymore. It starts one Sunday morning and there is only 4 days to Christmas. Elly is sitting in her room, suddenly Sophie walks into the room and notice that Elly looks physically weak. Sophie tries to get Elly over and sit on the sofa with her, so she can tell Elly about her suspicions, but Elly ignore her and starts looking in her box of CDs instead. Then Sophie asks Elly to pull up her jumper, and says to Elly that she knows, she has not been eating for a long while now and she has a suspicion that Elly has an eating disorder. Elly refuses to pull up her jumper and says to Sophie that she is just jealous because, she is skinnier then Sophie now. Elly breaks down and sits down on the floor and starts to cry. She hides behind her hair and suddenly asks Sophie, if it is okay to die.Sophie is so shocked over Ellys behavior, she don’t know what to answer. Sophie begins to discuss with Elly if she really wants to die and eventually Elly pulls her jumper up, to show her body to Sophie. In the text there is an exemplified where we can see, how Sophie never had been concerned about Elly before:
