In our time, there has started a new kind of relationship called “Living Apart Together” also called L.A.T. The meaning of this is that couples, who are in a committed relationship – or married, choose to live apart. L.A.T gives a lot of new opportunities, especially for couples who have some bad experience from failed marrieds or past relationships. If you look at the statistic, you will see that only one-in-three couples that has been married before will last. Therefor is L.A.T an advantage, because you would not have to go through the same again. In text 2, written by Jill Broke, we gets a positively impression of L.A.T. According to J.B one of the benefits of living apart, especially if there is children involved, is that if the new relationship does not work out, the home will not be broken up, and therefore many thinks that it will protect the children. And when you are not living in the same house, you will properly appreciate the time you spend together a lot more and therefor the relationship will keep on feeling fresh and new. But one of J.B.’s concerns is that when the children have more than one home, they easily get confused about “where to lay their hat”. Therefor she says “The more fragmentation toy have the less good it is”In text 3, written by Gary Picariello, the author tells about the problem from both the positively and the negatively side, but if you read between the lines, it is easy to see that he use some ironic when he talks about L.A.T. He says that yes, you cannot find a person who can meet all your needs, but, that is the point in a committed relationship. But if you choose to be with a person, one of the important things is to meet each other in the middle.
