Usually, back in time, when married people lived apart, it was because of the geographic distance. Because of the distance they don’t live together. But this time the distance isn’t the problem. Mostly they live close to each other and the relationships are a lot more serious. It is called “living apart together” also known as LAT-relationships. It is exactly what it says. A couple who chooses to live in different homes. Not because of it is necessary, but because they want to by choice. Studies shows that almost 50% of young couples in Europe have decided to live a life in a LAT-relationship. Experts say that within 10 years the habit of LAT-ing could change the dynamic of an entire population. LAT-relationships are beneficial for those who aren’t good to compromise, negotiation and/or commitment. All these qualities are needs to makes a relationship run. Most young couples need space, especially in the rough times. And this is the new way of doing it.
