It was a dark and rainy night, when a woman was reading a book about horror dreams. But then she realized that she actually was alone. But whatever, she felt nice and comfortable in the chair she was sitting in. She started thinking of her husband. He was dead of course, but no one knew it except her. But the creepy thing was that she could not remember his death. Her name was Betty, Betty Clintwood. And she was not quite the woman who normally was afraid of the dark, but she knew she had to be. There was something that said to her mind, that she needed to take care these days. Suddenly someone opened the door to Betty’s kitchen, it was her kids who were ready to go to bed, and she was not alone after all. Betty’s kids where named Kimie and Jamie Clintwood. Jamie was named after his father, it was his grandma who decided it when he died three years ago. Jamie was actually called Oliver before, but he has gotten used to be called Jamie. Betty took the kids to bed and hummed a song that their dad used to hum. She stood in the kitchen where everything was quietest, the phone rang and she picked it up. It was the grandma Allison who wondered if the kids were in their beds. Betty said they slept like angels. We will come and visit you tomorrow Betty said, in other words she meant it sarcastically. It is because of the kids, if they did not go visit there grandma often, Betty wouldn’t have any peace. They loved Allison, sometimes more than Betty. She put the phone away, and then it rang again with a loud sound. Immediately she took it and said what, a low sound whispered. Get away; get away, the sound got louder. GET AWAY! Betty dropped the phone on the floor in chock. She went fast to her bedroom and opened the door, a tall man was stirring at her with red eyes and he had an axe in his hand. He reached after her, YOU REMEMBER ME?! DO YOU! She closed her eyes and started to scream. Opened them and he was gone. Jamie and Kimie ran into the room yelling what’s happening. Betty answered with a frightened voice nothing, it was just the window that blow up, go to bed. Kimie went through their kitchen to go to her room, when she also screamed. Betty ran to the kitchen with a shotgun in her hands, it was the man again outside the kitchen window. He had blood in his face and on his axe. In the awkward silence he said loud, GET AWAY FROM MY KIDS! Or you will continue to have me in your nightmares. She shouted go away and triggered a bullet against him. The window broke and he was gone again. Betty quickly ran to her car leaving her kids behind and drove to the graveyard. She stopped the car and entered the yard full of tombstones. She went to her husband’s tombstone and saw what she had in mind, the grave was open. It was then she heard the chainsaw and footsteps coming at her. Then she started to remember and all the sounds stopped. It was springtime and Betty was overprotective as always. She knew that something soon would happen. In the same time Jamie came home from the office. He turned his head to Betty and told her that he could not take any more of this madness. Even the doctor told Betty to stay calm and not go crazy like the rest of her family. Betty refused and said that nothing was wrong with her. For god sake look at you! Even when you were pregnant with our kids you cut yourself. I’m leaving you and I will take the kids with me, then you will be able to sail you own lake.In the same moment Jamie puts his bags down with his back to Betty, he feels the silence. He feels Betty’s anger and the axe in his neck. Jamie falls to his knees, and in his last moments he draws the cross of Jesus on himself. It was Betty who killed her own husband in anger. She slowly returns, no she hears the chainsaw and footsteps again. The tall man who appears to be her husband sticks a knife up in Betty’s stomach from behind slowly. The pain will go away, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO! Betty puts her hands on the wound and finds her way back to the kids. She tells them to go to grandma who lives a few blocks away, mom is going to be away for a while alright? Jamie and Kimie agree and start walking to their grandma in the hard rain, without thinking about the blood that leaked from their mother.Betty went back to the graveyard in hard pain and fear. Standing in the front of Jamie’s tombstone thinking of nothing. Then she felt the cold axe blade in her neck. The children are now safe! Feel the pain I felt! And then he pushes Betty down in the grave, fills it with gasoline and turns on a safety match. May god cleanse your soul. Jamie disappears in the rain.
