He was born in Atlanta, Georgia as the second child of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr.. Both King and his father was born Michael. After visiting Germany in 1934 changed his father both their names to Martin in honor of the German Protestant leader Martin Luther.

He was pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama from 1954 to 1959

He began doctoral studies in systematic theology at Boston University and received his doctorate in 1955.

I Have a dream

On 28 August 1963 was King helps to organize the big march on Washington for jobs and freedom - one of the largest demonstrations in U.S. history with about 250,000 people. Most participants in the demo station was black, but also some white participated for over 60s got broad sections of the American society realize the injustice of the oppression of blacks, mainly took place in the South. This awareness of the civil rights case was partly due Kings tireless struggle through peaceful means. King was a Christian minister and ordained in 1948 at the age of 19 years in Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

Martin was a famous priest and he preached good, but it all took off when Rosa Parks was arrested. It started as a normal day for Rosa. She was tired after a long day's work, she got on the bus and sat in the middle. Later a man came into the bus, the men respectively beside and opposite Rosa rose at the man, but she was seated. Bussdrever gave her orders to move, she could not understand that three people had to move for a man, after which she was arrested. The reason she was arrested was that she was black, but her efforts were not wasted now Martin had a weapon against the white racist laws. Rosa had not used violence but she had yet received attention. Then followed a non-violent strike against buses that ended up black people should stand up for whites, but blacks had still not sitting in front of the bus.
