Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It’s a great pleasure for me to be here today and I’m happy that I’m going to speak at this conference. I’m Terry Leahy I’m CEO for Tesco and I would never spend £10 on a loaf of Poilane bread.
I’m going to speak for about 45 minutes, and then we can spend the remaining time on any questions you may have.
First, I’ll present about the development of retailing. Second, I’ll explain what it takes to run a retail outlet today. Third, I’ll give you some example of successful shops and mention something about green consumerism, and finally I’ll present my ideas of regarding shopping in the future.
You’re welcome to interrupt me, if you have any questions or you can hold your questions till I’m finished my presentation.
It might be a good idea to copy what I’m going to present about, all what you find interesting and perhaps can use.
Now first will I talk about what it takes to run a retail outlet today, you remember in old days did it take hours to shop, wash and clean today we want everything to go fast, it almost not can go to fast. First you say to yourself that “I want my company to be one of the best in the world” and then you have to know what your costumers want. But the most important think are you needed to have data about your costumers. When you want to build relation and loyalties to your costumers then you, better understand them and understand what they need, and it allows you to develop products and services that the wishes.
