My name is Jackie Elliot. I live with my two sons Tony, Billy and my mother in law in Durham County. My wife Sarah died a few years ago. I was broken. I miss her very much. Her little blue eyes and her beautiful yellow hair. I forced Billy to begin boxing as I thought it could help him become a real man. I came to his boxing training almost every time hoping he would become better. But he didn’t. Instead one day when I came to see him boxing training I saw him dancing ballet. He was doing the last thing I wanted to see from him .I was surprised and mad at the same time. I thought Billy was on the right path to become a real man but after I saw him dancing that ballet my biggest fear was that he would become gay. I didn’t see a boy dancing ballet as normal. I would have seen it as normal if he was playing football, boxing or wrestling but not ballet. I decided to give him a chance to do what he wanted to do. We were on strike every day and we had to take the fights against the strikebreakers. We were on strike because we weren’t satisfied with the pay. I decided not to be on strike anymore because I wanted to give Billy a chance to be a ballet dancer but I couldn’t do it without money. Tony convinced me not to do it instead I decided to pawn Sarah's jewelry and take with Billy to his ballet audition. After the audition we went home but Billy wasn’t satisfied with his performance.
