Billy Elliot:
Billy is eleven years old, and lives with his father Jackie Elliot and his brother Tony Elliot, in a small terraced house in Durham County, in a poor part of the town. Billy goes to boxing in the start but then he see the girls doing ballet and gets fascinated of it. he gets personal training of the ballet teacher mrs. Wilkinson, and gets better and better. Later he comes to an audition and gets in to The Royal Ballet School.
Jackie Elliot:
He is an middle-aged man who has two sons, Billy and Tony. Jackie is the overhead of the family and the one who makes the money together with Billy's older brother Tony. Jackie is a good farther but he is also strict and does what he needs to do, to keep hold on the family. In the start he is very much against that Billy is doing ballet, but later he accepts it.
