1: she think’s it’s a huge and amazing place, by that I mean that there are so many things she haven’t seen in her life before. It’s like a new ‘’universe’’ for her. She also think it’s a bit weird with all these people wearing makeup, even men. The reason why she needs to be careful is because she could be planning an escape plan, or her tactics in the games would be easily to find out, if she talks about them.
2: she loves her sister more than anybody else, she would do anything for her, as shown she volunteers because Prim gets picked at the reaping. That is why Katniss is such a strong (mentally). She is not afraid of anything that would save her little sister. Katniss and Gale had a little secret love in their relationship, but without Katniss noticing it, she kind of ‘’friend zones’’ him, because she doesn’t know how it feels like to love a boy. She loved her father but she lost him by an accident, which made her stronger, and therefor she can’t find her deep love to Gale. Her mother… she isn’t like a ‘’real’’ mother, she is so immature, and doesn’t know how to tackle any situations, she is not helping Prim at all, when she gets picked at the reaping. She is also not helping with getting food, she is just at home, doing nothing, and that is why Katniss is so mature, and knows how to tackle situations. The reason why she says that to Peeta or about him, is because she have always been alone in the world, no friends, she needs to get food herself, no school, no boyfriend, etc. therefor she isn’t used to owe anyone anything.
