AmishThe Amish society is Anabaptist. The Amish lives in North America, but was founded in Schweiz and Southern Germany, because of that they still use a kind of German in there ceremonies, it’s called Pennsylvanian Deutsch. The Amish is divided in different church communities, the Old Order Amish is the widespread. Every second Sunday they have a service, they’re shifting between each other to have the ceremony at their house. They’re leaving school when they have finished 8th grade. They aren’t taking any further education because they don’t want to be in contact with the rest of the world. They aren’t using modern technology, and in general they aren’t modern at all. Their cloth is old fashion, the women wears a floor long dress, on their head they have a white prayer covering if they are married and a black one if they are single. The men wear dark-colored suits, and black or straw-colored hats, and they also wear suspenders. The men won’t wear a mustache because it’s a symbol of the military, they’re against the military and is says in the American Constitution that they have the rights not to join the military. They can’t be divorced, and if they do anything that isn’t following the rules they will be shunned which means they can’t see anyone from the society. They call people Englisch if they aren’t a part of the community, and you live in the modern world. In 2010 there were 250.000 Amish people in USA, and that number is only going to grow.I think it’s a great idea that they stick together, and are close-knit community. They help each other, and I think they past good values to their children. At the same time they don’t get a look into the real world, and that makes them curious and when they get to rumspringa they’re going to cross some boundaries. It has some huge consequences if they’re out of control, but they experience the real world but it’s from a wrong view. I think the Amish society stands for good things, and I like the charity and that everybody helps each other. That must be a secure and safe place to grow up, and that will affect you later in your life that you’re helping and are generous to other people. I also think it’s good that they have an opinion and that they are following it 100% I also think that they have the rights to have their own religion, but I still think it’s to exaggerate when they isolate themselves from the rest of the world. My opinion is that they have to be respected, and to be treated as any other American, and their religion and point of view has to be accepted.Words: 463
