Emmett Till When Abraham Lincoln released the slaves, nobody wants the black people. They did not have any places to go. Most off the black people took to the northern states because they fought for them, but they did not want them. That was when the segregation started. The Jim Crow laws were made. Everything got separated. The schools were separated the hospital and wating rooms for public transport. It was not so bad in the northern sates, but it was really bad in the south.
