Seize the day. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold and die.

There is light in the voices of the boys, they are starting to fold out their wings, and learn to fly. There is not light without darkness, and when the wings cannot fold out, there is only darkness left. This cannot always be learnt the easy way, and that are being shown, as this story unfolds.

It is the start of the year on ”hell ton”, all the students are gathering and already here you see the discipline there were in the school. Even with all the rules and discipline, there are still those students who do not quite follow them, and that is the future members of dead poet society. An example of their misbehavior are already shown on one of the first pages, which is actually on day one of school, where they are smoking in Neil Perry and Todd Andersons room. As the first day proceeds, they get bombarded with homework, until they get to Mr. Keating’s class. Mr. Keating’s class is like a break from the “real” classes, instead of doing boring classes, the students are twisted around his fingers, and wondering about what he does next, what are they going to learn next, he gets them excited to do his classes.
