Nelson Madiba Mandela was born in 18th July 1918, in Mvezo in the Transkei territories of South Africa. He was originally named Rolihlahla which meaned troublemaker. His father was Henry Mgadla Mandela. Mgadla was one of the main councilor, to the acting chief of the Thembu tribe. Mandela’s father died when Mandela was nine years old. Mandela grew up with his two sisters, in the village of Qunu. His mother sent him to the local Methodist school, when he was seven years old. It was there he got his name Nelson, by his teacher. Mandela’s mom took him to the Great Palace at the guardianship of a couple, and they raised him like their own child. Because of his new family took Mandela every Sunday to the church that was some of the reasons why that Christianity had a major influence in his life. He joined a school that was next to the palace where he studied. When he was done there, he began his secondary education at Clarkebury Boarding Institute in Engcobo, the Larges School for black people in Thembuland. He began to play there football. After that he began to study bachelor degree in University of Fort Hare. It was here he first met his lifelong friend and associate Oliver Tambo. Both Nelson and Oliver were suspended from the university because of he became involved in a Students' Representative Council boycott against the quality of food. He never came back for finishing his degree. Nelson Mandela returned to Transkei but after he found out that his guardian had arranged a marriage for him and his cousin (Justice), they both fled to Johannesburg, where he got a work as night watchman on a goldmine, he was later fired because his boss found out that he ran away from home. He then stayed with his cousin in George Goch Township; he was introduced to an ANC activist, who found a job to him as articled clerk. The head of the company saw positively on the ANCs target. After a while Mandela continued his higher education at University of South Africa, where he did Bachelor degree, in 1941 the guardian came for forgiving Mandela, to run away from them. After he completed his bachelor degree, he returned back to Johannesburg to be a lawyer. He started at university of Witwatersrand, to study for law. Because he was the only native African, he often met racism. It was also there he met Evelyn Mase, she also was a member of ANC from Engcobo, Transkei, who was training to become a nurse. They were married on 5 October 1944. They got 2 children, a boy and a girl. The girl died 9 months later. Mandela was elected national president of the ANC youth league. Mandela opened his office of law in 1952. That year he became the president of ANC youth league; he was banned by the government, for any meeting, and restricted to the district around Johannesburg. Because of this Mandela made a plan that the ANC would be broken into small groups, and then they can keep on work. But still after
