This story is about two girls Karen and Michelle. The story starts with Karen is getting ready for a big party, when her friend Michelle calls her. Michelle decides that they should come to the party dressed up as ‘’the fabulous button sisters’’. Karen dressed in brow and Michelle dressed up in white. When the girls meet up, Karen was dressed up in her mom’s brown clothes. Karen sees that Michelle not are dressed up in white, but she is dressed in a green top and denim skirt. Michelle are trying to explain that the letter is from her mom from Hollywood who has made it and wants Michelle to come and enjoin her in Hollywood. Later at the party, Karen is stays in the kitchen while Michelle are glowing up the room, forcing the rest backstage. Karen’s friend Connie asked if she was okay and she answered yes. The first month Michelle was in Hollywood she sent Karen postcards, but when Karen stopped answering Michelle’s postcards, they stopped coming. Therefore, Michelle did not sent postcards anymore.

Characterize Karen:

Karen is a teenage girl and lives with her parents. Her best friend is Connie, who is the girl who asked Karen about if she was okay. Karen is a little bit clumsy as we see in the text “when I found myself knocked into the gutter for the umpteenth time”. Ever since Michelle started at school, Karen has liked her a lot. Karen believes and trusts in Michelle and her ideas of being something big in the future. Karen is a bit in love with that future, so she rather ends her relationship with Connie. Karen is not insecure and are influenced by other people very fast. That is showing up when Michelle says that they need to keep up with all the new diets and decides what color food there food are going to be. Karen just goes along with it, without asking any questions about. When Michelle tells Karen that she's going to Hollywood she becomes very confused, mad and sad and tries to be good friends with Connie again and kind of ends her relationship with Michelle as she don't reply her letters.
