Analyse af 'Sandy and her beautiful sisters'

“Sandy and her beautiful sisters” is a modern fairytale, which is written in course of another fairytale named “Cinderella”. Sandy lives with her sisters who are helpless and cannot make a meal for themselves. One day Sandy finally realised she is better than she deserved and comes in contact with a person named Mrs. Fairey. The story takes place in London near the Fulham district. Sandy is almost a mother for her two sisters. She cleans and cooks for the sisters because they have never done such things before and as mentioned before are they helpless without Sandy. The only thing Sandy really likes to do is cooking food and after some while, she becomes employee in a catering agency where Mrs. Fairey is her chef. Sandy’s sisters are named Helena and Harriet, they are some beautiful girls, but this is also the only good thing there is about them. Opposite of the text “Cinderella” are the sisters in this story gorgeous and Sandy is a normal looking girl.

Mrs. Fairey is the one of the main characters of the story, Mrs. Fairey´s name is also a bit strange, but this indicates that Mrs. Fairey should be the godmother of Cinderella (Sandy), and also the name “Fairey” is not spelled like fairy, but it is pronounced like that. After Mrs. Fairey told Sandy she is being treated badly, Sandy decides to change her life. She wants to decide for herself and stop listening to her sisters’ regrets and lose weight. She wants to be a bit like them.
